Mid-term Meeting
October 24-28, 2008
The mid-term meeting of the Africa Higher Education Collaborative (AHEC) took place in Johannesburg, South Africa October 24-28, 2008. This second face to face meeting of the participating AHEC scholars provided the opportunity to advance individual and collaborative research projects that contribute to the key objectives of the collaborative – to improve equity and access to higher education in Africa.
Members of the four AHEC working groups discussed progress on their collaborative research initiatives and presented progress reports and updates to their AHEC colleagues. In addition, the scholars identified further research interests and potential collaborations across working groups, as well as research interests and practical initiatives that are of particular importance within each of the four participating countries – Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
