Africa Higher Education Collaborative (AHEC)

Role of the Working Group Coordinators

At the constituting meeting of AHEC, four working groups were formed that address relevant sub-topics of the overall theme of increasing equity and access to higher education in Africa. Each working group selected one of its members as group coordinator. The coordinator serves as facilitator for the working group, encourages communication between group members, communicates with fellow coordinators and AHEC program staff at CIES, identifies and communicates working group needs, monitors progress of the group toward its research and collaboration goals, and represent the group as at conferences, professional meetings etc. as needed.

As a result, four working groups have been formed. They are:

-> 1. Financial Resources/Mechanisms
-> 2. Marginalization, Social and Cultural Barriers
-> 3. Institutional and Individual Preparedness/Readiness
-> 4. Delivery Systems including pedagogy, methodologies and didactics
